Tottenham target Manchester City pair Savinho and Marmoush in double deal

Tottenham Hotspur are pushing ahead with plans to sign Manchester City forwards Savinho and Omar Marmoush in a package deal, according to The Athletic reporter David Ornstein.

No agreement has been finalised, but discussions between the two clubs are understood to be progressing as Tottenham continue an ambitious summer recruitment programme.

The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Tottenham were advancing towards a deal for Savinho, while Marmoush is also considered one of the Manchester City players who could leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Savinho was left out of Manchester City head coach Maresca’s 21-man squad for Sunday’s Community Shield final, which City lost 3-0 to Arsenal. Marmoush, 27, was introduced as a second-half substitute for Erling Haaland.

Should Tottenham complete deals for both players, they would add two more signings to an already busy summer. The club have spent £229.5m on Tonali, Matheus Fernandes and Jan van Hecke, while also recruiting defenders Senesi and Robertson and goalkeeper Dubravka on free transfers.

Tottenham first showed an interest in Savinho last summer. In August 2025, The Athletic reported that the club had discussed a transfer package worth about €50m with Manchester City. City were unwilling to sell the Brazil international at that point, and Savinho subsequently signed a new contract in early October that runs until 2031.

Despite that long-term agreement, Savinho has remained on the fringes of the Manchester City team. He made only seven Premier League starts last season as Pep Guardiola’s side finished runners-up in the league and won both domestic cups.

Savinho joined Manchester City from French club Troyes for a reported €40m. During the 2023-24 campaign, he spent the season on loan at La Liga side Girona, where he scored 11 goals and supplied 10 assists.

His contribution helped Girona finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history. Troyes and Girona, like Manchester City, are part of the City Football Group.

Marmoush started eight Premier League matches last season and scored eight goals in 36 appearances in all competitions. Before moving to Manchester City, he had enjoyed a prolific spell with Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 37 goals in 67 games across all competitions.

The Egypt international completed his transfer to City in January 2025. He later played for Egypt at the World Cup and helped the team reach the last 16.

A move for the pair would represent a significant further reshaping of Tottenham’s squad. Talks remain ongoing, however, and the proposed package involving Savinho and Marmoush has not yet been completed.
