Real Madrid have officially completed the signing of Bernardo Silva, but the club’s social-media welcome for their new player has attracted almost as much attention as his unveiling ceremony.
The Spanish club published an AI-generated video featuring a series of animals appearing to react to something just outside the camera’s view. Manchester City forward Erling Haaland responded to the post by tagging Silva and asking: “Did you agree to this?”
The video shows a dog, hedgehog, sheep and horse all looking towards the same unseen subject. For much of the clip, viewers are left waiting to discover what has caught the animals’ attention.
The music then becomes more dramatic, while the animals begin to display frightened expressions and movements. The mystery is not resolved until the final moments, when Bernardo Silva’s official portrait appears on screen.
Real Madrid accompanied the video with the caption: “They knew Bernardo Silva was coming… They knew all along that Bernardo Silva was on his way…”
The unusual presentation quickly prompted a humorous reaction from Haaland, who tagged his Manchester City team-mate beneath the post. His comment read: “Did you agree to this?”
Silva has now formally completed his move to Real Madrid and attended the ceremony marking his unveiling as the club’s latest signing. The announcement video was released earlier by Real Madrid’s official social-media account as part of its welcome for the Portugal international.
Rather than showing Silva directly from the beginning, the club chose to build suspense around the animals’ unexplained reactions. That approach left the video’s central subject hidden until the closing image confirmed that the arrival being teased was Silva’s.
Haaland’s response added another layer to the post, with the Manchester City forward appearing to question whether Silva had approved the creative concept. His comment was directed at Silva himself and immediately drew attention to the deliberately dramatic and unconventional welcome.
The video therefore served two purposes: it announced Silva’s arrival at Real Madrid and created a light-hearted exchange involving one of his Manchester City colleagues. The club’s message presented the animals as knowing in advance that Silva was on his way, while the final portrait provided the reveal.
Silva’s unveiling ceremony followed the completion of the transfer, making the AI video an early part of Real Madrid’s public welcome for their new signing.
