Tottenham Hotspur have identified Besiktas striker and South Korea international Oh Hyeon-gyu as their main target for the January transfer window, according to Turkish-Football reporter Emre Sarigul.
The 23-year-old forward is understood to be the club’s preferred option to strengthen their centre-forward position when the winter window opens.
Sarigul also reports that Son recommended his South Korea team-mate to Tottenham. The pair play together at international level, and Son is said to have backed Oh as a potential addition to the squad.
Tottenham have been impressed by Oh’s aerial ability and his willingness to press opponents with high intensity. Those qualities are viewed as a good match for the style of forward line the club want to develop.
Oh joined Besiktas and has emerged as a target for Tottenham as they assess their attacking options ahead of January.
