Tottenham are considering a move for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson as they look to add to their attacking options, although no formal offer has yet been made for the Senegal international.
Jackson has returned to Chelsea following a season-long loan at Bayern Munich and could now be the subject of renewed interest from another Premier League club.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham have identified the 25-year-old as one of the players they are considering as they seek to strengthen an attack managed by Roberto De Zerbi.
Tottenham are not alone in monitoring Jackson’s situation. Aston Villa are also interested in the striker, while a number of other clubs are understood to be keeping track of his availability.
Villa manager Unai Emery is already familiar with Jackson, having previously worked with him at Villarreal.
Chelsea’s asking price could prove to be a major factor in determining whether any potential transfer develops. The Blues are reportedly seeking about €76m for a player who remains under contract until 2033.
That valuation would represent a significant increase on the €37m Chelsea paid to sign Jackson in 2023.
Jackson has made 81 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions since joining the club, scoring 30 goals and providing 12 assists.
His latest season, however, was spent away from Stamford Bridge after Chelsea sent him to Bayern Munich on loan.
The move to Germany did not result in Jackson becoming a regular ahead of Harry Kane, but he still finished his spell with 11 goals and four assists from 34 appearances.
Bayern ultimately chose not to exercise the €65m option that would have allowed them to sign the forward permanently, leaving Jackson back at Chelsea and facing uncertainty over his next move.
Tottenham’s interest could provide him with another opportunity to continue his career in the Premier League.
Jackson’s qualities are understood to have attracted attention, particularly his ability to exploit space and his versatility in attacking positions.
His experience of English football is another factor that could make him an attractive option for Tottenham as they assess ways to improve their forward line.
However, the lack of a formal offer means there is no agreement between the clubs at this stage.
Chelsea’s valuation also presents a potential obstacle. Tottenham and other interested clubs would have to consider whether they are prepared to meet the reported €76m price for a player whose future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain.
Jackson’s situation has therefore attracted attention from several clubs following his return from Germany.
At international level, the striker has also established himself as a Senegal player, with 37 caps and eight goals for his country.
His record in England, combined with his ability to play in different attacking roles, has contributed to the interest surrounding him.
For Chelsea, the situation provides the possibility of recouping substantially more than the amount originally paid for Jackson if they decide to sell.
