Togolese-German Traoré hits century of Bundesliga appearances

Togolese-German Omar Haktab Traoré has reached a landmark 100 appearances for 1. FC Heidenheim, marking a significant moment in his career despite his side’s defeat in the Bundesliga.

The milestone came during Heidenheim’s 1-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park in the 26th round of league fixtures.

Traoré, a right-back, was introduced as a late substitute in the 85th minute as his team sought an equaliser, but they were unable to overturn the deficit.

While the result proved disappointing, the occasion itself represented an important personal achievement for the 28-year-old defender.

His 100th appearance for Heidenheim underlines both his consistency and the trust placed in him by the club since his arrival.

Traoré joined Heidenheim in July 2023 on a free transfer from VfL Osnabrück.

Since then, he has established himself as a regular presence in the squad, quickly adapting to his new environment and becoming a key figure within the team.

His experience in German football has played a crucial role in his development at the club, where he has contributed both on the pitch and within the dressing room.

Over the past three seasons, Traoré’s involvement has reflected his importance to Heidenheim’s project, with the milestone serving as recognition of his sustained contribution.

So far this season, he has featured in 25 matches across all competitions, starting 16 of them.

His performances have reinforced his role as a dependable option in defence, even as competition for places remains strong.

Despite his established status, uncertainty surrounds Traoré’s future at the club.

His current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and, according to available information, no extension has yet been agreed.

This raises questions about whether he will continue his journey with Heidenheim beyond the current campaign.

Off the pitch, Traoré is reported to have an estimated market value of €3 million and earns an annual salary of €570,000.

These figures reflect his standing within the squad and his experience at the professional level.
