Morocco centre-forward Tawfik Bentayeb has joined Belgian club RSC Anderlecht from Union Touarga in a €4m transfer.
The 24-year-old has moved to the Jupiler Pro League side after a prolific season in France, where he finished as Ligue 2’s leading goalscorer with 18 goals during the 2025-26 campaign. Bentayeb scored 28 goals in 57 Ligue 2 appearances across his career, along with four assists.
Bentayeb spent last season at Troyes on loan from Union Touarga. He joined the French club in August 2025 for a €250,000 loan fee before returning to the Moroccan side at the end of June. His performances in Ligue 2 earned him the division’s top-scorer award for the 2025-26 season.
The move to Anderlecht is the latest step in a career that has included spells in both Morocco and France. Before his time at Troyes, Bentayeb spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Rodez AF, making four appearances in the Coupe de France and scoring three goals. That loan followed his progression with Union Touarga, whom he initially joined from AM Football on a free transfer in September 2021.
Bentayeb has also scored in domestic cup football, finding the net once in two appearances in the Moroccan Coupe du Trone and three times in four Coupe de France matches. He has made one appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Casablanca-born forward is left-footed and operates primarily through the centre of the attack. At 1.80m, he arrives at Anderlecht after producing his strongest goalscoring return in senior football, with his Ligue 2 record forming the main statistical backdrop to his transfer.
His career record also includes 14 goals in 48 Botola Pro Inwi appearances, as well as two assists in the competition. Those figures came during his time in Morocco before his successive loan moves to Rodez and Troyes gave him experience in the French game.
Bentayeb’s move takes him from Union Touarga’s domestic Moroccan setting to Anderlecht’s Belgian top-flight squad. The transfer was completed on 21 August 2026 for €4m, with the striker now contracted to the Brussels club until 30 June 2030.
