Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville is on the brink of joining Al Hilal in a deal worth around €80m, a move that would make him the second most expensive player in Saudi Pro League history.
The West Ham United wide man has already completed his medical with the Riyadh giants and agreed personal terms, according to prominent Saudi journalists, with only the final signature understood to be outstanding before the transfer is made official.
Medical completed as Al Hilal close in
Saudi reporter Hamad Al-Suwaili said Summerville underwent the medical examinations requested by Al Hilal “in the past few hours” after giving his approval to the move.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Al-Suwaili added that the “final signing” is now all that separates the 24-year-old from being unveiled as the club’s latest high-profile acquisition.
If completed at the reported €80m fee, Summerville’s signing would rank as the second largest in the history of the Saudi Pro League, underlining Al Hilal’s determination to continue building one of the most star-studded squads in the region.
Reported salary below PIF club stars
Further details of the proposed contract were reported by another Saudi journalist, Saif Al-Saif, who disclosed the scale of the wages on offer.
He said Al Hilal have tabled an annual salary package worth €12m including add-ons for the Dutchman.
Al-Saif noted that, despite the headline figure, the offer “is less than most players at clubs backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund”, suggesting Summerville will earn less than some of the league’s biggest names.
Rising Dutch star after 2026 World Cup impact
Summerville’s profile has risen sharply on the international stage after his performances for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup.
Although he was not a guaranteed starter in every match for the Oranje, the winger still managed to score two goals and provide two assists during the tournament, catching the eye with his pace and direct attacking play.
His contribution helped underline his status as one of the most promising wide forwards of his generation, boosting interest from clubs outside Europe’s traditional top leagues.
Strong season at West Ham
Away from international duty, Summerville enjoyed an impressive campaign with West Ham United last season.
He featured in 34 matches for the Premier League side, scoring seven goals and registering five assists in all competitions.
Typically deployed on the left flank, Summerville is known for cutting inside onto his stronger foot, but his versatility has also been a key asset. He can operate on the right wing, as a central striker or in a playmaking role behind the forward line, though those positions are less natural for him.
