Strong squad selected as Sierra Leone prepare for FIFA Series

Sierra Leone head coach Mohamed Kallon has announced his squad for the upcoming FIFA Series 2026 March friendlies, expressing confidence in the strength of the players selected despite some notable absences.

The West African side is set to face Azerbaijan and Saint Lucia as part of the international series, with the matches providing an opportunity for the team to test its depth and preparation on the global stage.

Speaking after confirming his squad, Kallon indicated that the selection process had been influenced by a number of challenges, including injuries and personal circumstances affecting some players. Nevertheless, he maintained that the final group reflects a competitive and capable team.

“We’ve managed to put a very strong squad together for the FIFA series friendlies against Azerbaijan and Saint Lucia,” Kallon said.

“Taking into consideration that we have some players, who are nursing injuries and personal issues.”

The fixtures are part of a wider FIFA initiative designed to give national teams additional opportunities to play international matches outside of major tournaments and qualification campaigns.

For Sierra Leone, the games represent a chance to build cohesion within the squad and assess performance levels against varied opposition.

The FIFA Series presents an opportunity to evaluate both experienced players and emerging talents within the national setup.
