Simone Inzaghi is being considered by Juventus as a possible successor to Luciano Spalletti for the 2027-28 season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Spalletti has come under early pressure after Juventus collected only 11 points from their opening seven Serie A matches. Their record so far is three wins, two draws and two defeats.
Despite the disappointing start, several sources report that Juventus’ directors and ownership do not currently want to make a change during the season. Spalletti’s contract at the Allianz Stadium runs until 2028.
That position could change if results fail to improve over the coming months. In that situation, Juventus could initially turn to a caretaker manager, with Stefano Pioli and Antonio Conte identified as possible mid-season options.
The club’s plans would be different if Spalletti remains in charge until the end of the campaign but fails to achieve Juventus’ minimum objective of qualifying for the Champions League.
In that event, Juventus would reportedly seek a coach with a different profile, and former Inter manager Inzaghi is among the leading candidates.
Inzaghi is currently in charge of Al-Hilal and is highly regarded by Juventus for his experience in top-flight football, his record of developing players and his understanding of the demands facing the club.
The Italian guided Inter to the Serie A title in the 2023-24 season. During his time at the club, he also won the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana three times.
Inzaghi reached the Champions League Final with Inter in 2023 and again in 2025.
