Tanzanian defender Nathaniel Chilambo has joined Simba SC from Azam FC, strengthening the Dar es Salaam giants’ options at right-back. The 22-year-old, who was born in the city, moves across the Tanzanian Premier League after establishing himself as a first-team option at Azam.
Chilambo, a specialist right-back who plays off his right foot, arrives at Simba on the back of growing exposure in continental competition. He featured in both the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Champions League last season, making four appearances and totalling 300 minutes across the two tournaments, experience that will be valuable as Simba continue to compete on multiple fronts.
The defender began his professional career with Ruvu Shooting before switching to Azam FC ahead of the 2022–23 campaign. His performances there, including regular domestic football and his first outings in CAF competitions, have now earned him a move to one of the country’s most successful clubs.
Standing at 1.68m, Chilambo is known primarily for his work on the right side of defence and will be expected to add depth and competition in that area of Simba’s back line. His arrival also reinforces the club’s policy of recruiting home-grown talent with experience in African club tournaments.
Chilambo’s transfer from Azam FC to Simba SC was completed on 20 July 2026.
