Tanzanian giants Simba SC have completed the signing of midfielder Bakari Msimu on a two-year contract after the player rejected a contract renewal offer from Coastal Union FC.
The move strengthens Simba’s squad ahead of the new season as the club continues to reinforce key areas in pursuit of domestic and continental success.
Msimu’s departure brings an end to weeks of speculation surrounding his future. Coastal Union had been eager to retain the highly rated midfielder and reportedly offered him an improved contract extension as part of a long-term plan to build the team around him and potentially benefit from a future transfer.
However, the midfielder opted against renewing his stay at the club and instead accepted Simba’s proposal.

According to reports, Msimu will earn TSh 6 million during the first year of his contract, with his salary increasing to TSh 7 million in the second year. He is also understood to have received a signing-on fee worth TSh 120 million.
