Morocco international Brahim Díaz has been managing persistent muscle discomfort at Real Madrid, with the issue reportedly contributing to his reduced playing time in recent weeks.
According to Diario AS, the midfielder has continued making himself available despite the discomfort, although the problem is affecting his physical condition and daily training work.
The issue was already present before Real Madrid’s Champions League meeting with Inter Milan on September 8. Despite the pain, Díaz insisted on being involved and started the match.
He went on to produce an influential performance, providing the assist for Kylian Mbappé as Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory.
His involvement has dropped significantly since then.
Díaz has played just 22 minutes across Real Madrid’s following three matches, featuring as a substitute against Elche but remaining on the bench against Rayo Vallecano and Atlético Madrid.
AS reports that the muscle discomfort has not completely cleared and continues to affect the Moroccan’s work. However, Díaz has maintained his willingness to play, with coach José Mourinho reportedly appreciating his commitment.
The situation has limited his involvement during the early part of the campaign. Díaz has accumulated only 178 minutes in official competition so far, registering one assist.
There is currently no precise diagnosis or confirmed timeframe for a potential absence, meaning Díaz has not been ruled out of upcoming fixtures.
However, his continued discomfort is expected to require careful management, particularly regarding his workload and playing time.
For now, the Morocco international remains available to Real Madrid while working through the physical issue, with the club expected to monitor his condition before determining how extensively he can be used.
