Sevilla have reached an agreement with Swedish club Sirius to sign 22-year-old striker Robbie Ure, according to Marca.
The Scotland forward is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Spanish club after an outstanding season in Sweden. Ure has scored 20 goals in 20 matches for Sirius, whose remarkable campaign has also seen them move to the top of the Swedish league.
Ure is due to travel to Seville on Monday or Tuesday to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of the transfer. The initial fee will be at least €6.5m, while the total value of the deal could rise to €9.2m if all bonuses are reached.
The agreement represents a significant move for Ure, who has emerged as one of the leading performers in the Swedish competition during a prolific campaign. His scoring record has helped Sirius produce a season of notable progress, with the club currently leading the domestic standings.
Sirius have spent most of their 100-year history playing in Sweden’s lower divisions. Their position at the top of the table therefore underlines the scale of their current achievement, while Ure’s contribution has made him a central figure in their rise.
Sevilla’s agreement with Sirius means the transfer is now dependent on the remaining formal steps, rather than further negotiations over the player’s move. Ure must first complete his medical examination in Seville before his five-year contract can be finalised.
The proposed structure of the transfer includes a guaranteed payment of at least €6.5m to Sirius. Additional bonuses could increase the eventual fee to €9.2m, making the deal one of the club’s most significant rewards for the development and sale of a player from its current squad.
For Ure, the move would take him from the Swedish league to Sevilla after a season in which he has scored in exactly half of Sirius’ 20 matches. His arrival would give the Spanish club a forward whose form has been central to the Swedish side’s unexpected title challenge.
Marca reported that the two clubs had reached their agreement, with Ure’s expected arrival in Seville early next week set to begin the final stage of the transfer. Until the medical and paperwork are completed, the move remains to be formally concluded, but the financial terms and contract length have already been agreed.
