A move for French midfielder Junior Dina Ebimbe to Schalke has lost momentum, with fresh reports indicating that a transfer is no longer close despite earlier optimism.
According to Sky Germany, the 25-year-old is interested in joining the Bundesliga club, but negotiations have stalled as Eintracht Frankfurt and Schalke remain significantly apart in their valuation of the player.
Earlier reports suggested the two clubs were edging towards an agreement. However, that situation has changed, with no active negotiations currently taking place.
The main stumbling block remains the transfer fee.
Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly holding out for around €3 million, while Schalke are only willing to pay approximately €1 million, leaving a €2 million gap that has prevented any breakthrough.
The player himself is understood to be open to the move to Gelsenkirchen, making the financial disagreement the only major obstacle.
For Schalke, operating under tight financial constraints, matching Frankfurt’s asking price is currently not considered feasible.
As a result, Sky describes the transfer as “rather unlikely at this stage,” although the situation could change if either club softens its position later in the transfer window.
For now, Dina Ebimbe remains an Eintracht Frankfurt player, while Schalke continue exploring alternative options as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
