David Mimbang has joined San Diego, bringing the Cameroon midfielder to Major League Soccer from Danish club Nordsjaelland on a loan deal.
The 18-year-old central midfielder completed the move on 2 September 2026, switching from the Danish Superliga to the MLS. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the deal.
Mimbang is a right-footed midfielder and stands 1.75m tall. His arrival gives San Diego a young option in the centre of the pitch as the club adds to its squad during the 2026-27 season.
The move comes only one day after Mimbang joined Nordsjaelland from Brasseries. He had spent the earlier part of his career with the Cameroonian club, joining them in July 2019 before making the move to Denmark at the start of September.
That rapid change of clubs now takes him across the Atlantic, with Mimbang moving from European football into the North American league at the beginning of his senior career. His transfer also represents a direct switch between two top-flight environments: Nordsjaelland compete in Denmark’s Superliga, while San Diego play in MLS.
Mimbang’s nationality makes him one of the latest Cameroon-born players to take up a place in the United States-based competition. At 18, he joins San Diego with his playing profile centred on central midfield, while his established right-footed preference provides further detail about his role.
The midfielder’s previous move to Nordsjaelland was recorded as a transfer from Brasseries, meaning his brief spell with the Danish side preceded his arrival in San Diego. He now begins a new chapter with the MLS club after completing two club changes in as many days.
San Diego have secured Mimbang’s services on loan from Nordsjaelland, with the agreement running until 30 June 2027.
