Mohamed Salah headlines a reported list of 10 overseas-based players invited by the Egyptian Football Association ahead of the Pharaohs’ November 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The preliminary list reportedly includes several established internationals and younger options as head coach Hossam Hassan prepares for Egypt’s two fixtures against Malawi.
The players named are Salah, Omar Marmoush, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Ibrahim Adel, Haitham Hassan, Hamza Abdelkarim, Hossam Abdelmajid, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Hamdi Fathi and Rami Rabia.
Their reported club affiliations span England, France, Denmark, Scotland, Spain, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, giving Hassan a range of options to consider as he prepares his squad.
However, the list has not been confirmed as the final squad by the Egyptian FA. The reported invitations should therefore be distinguished from official selection for the November camp.
The report also suggests that Brighton youngster Younes Ibrahim and striker Mostafa Mohamed have not been included in the preliminary group, although their status requires confirmation from the association.
Egypt are scheduled to face Malawi at Cairo International Stadium on November 13 before travelling to the Bingu National Stadium for the return fixture on November 17. The matches form part of the third and fourth rounds of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
The Pharaohs will be aiming to strengthen their position in the qualifying campaign as Hassan evaluates his options ahead of the next international window.
Further details on the final squad and the arrival arrangements for overseas-based players are expected as preparations continue.
