Salah arrives in Trabzon as Trabzonspor move nears completion

Mohamed Salah has arrived in the Turkish city of Trabzon to complete the formal steps of his proposed move to Trabzonspor, after the club announced it had opened negotiations with the Egypt international.

The transfer has not yet been officially completed, with Salah still required to sign the contract before Trabzonspor can confirm the deal. However, several Turkish reports claim the forward is set to agree a two-year contract with the club.

Salah is expected to join Trabzonspor as a free agent following his departure from Liverpool. The move would bring the “Egyptian King” to the Turkish club without a transfer fee, subject to the completion of the final procedures and the official announcement.

His arrival in Trabzon marks a significant stage in talks that began after Trabzonspor publicly confirmed it was negotiating with the former Liverpool player. The club’s decision to pursue Salah has attracted considerable attention in Turkey because of his international reputation and the scale of his previous career.

Trabzonspor chairman Ertugrul Dogan also spoke to Turkish broadcaster A Spor after Salah reached the city. In his comments, Dogan discussed the negotiations that preceded the agreement with the Egyptian forward and provided an account of how the club had reached this point.

The chairman’s remarks came before the signing of the contracts, meaning the transfer remains subject to the formal conclusion of the deal. Trabzonspor are yet to issue the final confirmation that Salah has become their player.

If completed, the proposed two-year agreement would see Salah continue his career in Turkey after leaving Liverpool. The reported arrangement is a free transfer, with the player moving on after his spell with the English club ended.

For now, Salah’s presence in Trabzon represents the latest development rather than the final stage of the transfer. The next steps are expected to be the completion of the documentation, the signing of the contract and Trabzonspor’s official announcement.

The negotiations have already placed the club at the centre of attention in Turkish football, while reports of Salah’s arrival have intensified expectations that the deal will soon be concluded. Until the paperwork is signed and the transfer is announced, however, Trabzonspor’s pursuit of the Egyptian forward remains formally unfinished.
