Ruben Amorim matches Milan record after unbeaten Serie A start

Ruben Amorim has become only the third manager in AC Milan’s history to avoid defeat in each of his first seven Serie A matches in charge.

The Portuguese manager reached the milestone after Milan beat Atalanta 3-2 in a hard-fought seventh-round fixture in Italy’s top flight.

Amorim’s record after seven league games stands at four wins and three draws. He follows Hector Puricelli, who recorded three wins and four draws in his first seven Serie A matches as Milan manager in 1955, and Luis Carniglia, who guided the club to four wins and three draws in his opening seven league fixtures in 1963.

Milan’s next Serie A match will be away against Udinese on Sunday, 25 October.
