Moroccan giants RS Berkane have officially announced the signing of defender Abdelghafour Lamirat from Wydad Casablanca during the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract, keeping him at Berkane until 2029.
Lamirat becomes the latest addition to an RS Berkane squad preparing for a demanding campaign that will see the club compete on both domestic and continental fronts.
The defender arrives with considerable experience in Moroccan football, having previously played for Chabab Ben Guerir and Olympique Safi before joining Wydad.
His spell at Olympique Safi was particularly memorable. Lamirat helped the club win the Moroccan Throne Cup during the 2023/24 season, securing the competition for the first time in its history.
His performances earned him a move to Wydad Casablanca, where he spent the 2024/25 season.
After just one campaign with the Casablanca giants, however, Lamirat has opted for a new challenge with RS Berkane.
His arrival is expected to provide Berkane with additional experience, defensive depth and squad competition as the club targets success across multiple competitions.
For Lamirat, the transfer represents another significant step in his career, giving him the opportunity to establish himself at one of Morocco’s leading and increasingly successful clubs.
