Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez is expected to sign for Qatar-based Al Shamal within the next few hours, three months after leaving Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli.
The 35-year-old ended his international career this summer after the 2026 World Cup but intends to continue playing at club level.
