Rising star Hamza Abdel Karim shines for Barcelona youth side

FC Barcelona officials have expressed strong praise for young striker Hamza Abdel Karim following his impressive performances with the club’s youth team, where he scored a hat-trick and played a key role in securing the Spanish Youth League title.

The former Al Ahly SC player has quickly attracted attention in Spain after a series of strong displays, with club officials highlighting both his physical attributes and technical qualities.

Barcelona’s general manager Jose Ramon spoke positively about the young forward’s early development since joining the club.

Jose Ramon said in statements to the program “From Cairo” which is broadcast on “On Sport” channel about the signing of Hamza Abdel Karim : “Hamza was positively evaluated in terms of his personality on and off the field, his physical strength, height and build.”

He added that the club’s technical staff had identified unique characteristics in the striker compared to others within Barcelona’s youth system.

“We have seen that he has a different style than the other strikers in the club’s age groups, and he also has the ability to finish attacks inside the penalty area.”

Coaching staff highlight adaptation process

Barcelona youth coach Paul Planes also commented on Abdel Karim’s progress, stressing that while the player has shown strong potential, continued adaptation to the club’s playing philosophy remains important.

“Barcelona have signed a very good player, but Hamza needs to continue adapting to Barcelona’s style of play.”

The coach added that the striker’s long-term development at the club would depend on his ability to refine his understanding of the team’s tactical approach.

“With time we will see all his potential. Hamza is a striker with great abilities and a wonderful scoring instinct.”

Strong start in Spain

Since receiving his first opportunity with Barcelona’s youth side, Abdel Karim has scored four goals, including a standout hat-trick against AS Monaco Youth Team.

His latest performance has further increased confidence within the club regarding his potential future contribution at higher levels.

The hat-trick display was described as his most complete performance so far, combining strong finishing ability with intelligent movement inside the penalty area.

Growing expectations for young striker

Abdel Karim’s rapid rise has placed him among the more closely watched talents within Barcelona’s academy system, with coaches continuing to assess his development closely as he adjusts to European football.

His physical presence, combined with his scoring instinct, has been repeatedly highlighted as key strengths that could shape his long-term role at the club.

However, officials have also emphasised the importance of patience, noting that youth development at Barcelona is a gradual process that requires adaptation both technically and tactically.

For now, Abdel Karim’s performances have strengthened his reputation within the club and drawn attention from observers following Barcelona’s youth system.

With continued progress, the striker is expected to remain part of the club’s development plans as he works towards further opportunities in higher-level competitions.
