Rio Ferdinand backs Harry Kane for 2026 Ballon dOr after ‘mad stats’

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has named Harry Kane as the player he believes should win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Kane strengthened his case by scoring twice in England’s 3-0 victory over Czech Republic in the fourth round of the Nations League group stage.

Ferdinand highlighted the striker’s “mad stats” when identifying him as his choice for the prestigious individual award.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will be held in London on 26 October.

Last year’s award was won by Ousmane Dembele, the attacking midfielder of Paris Saint-Germain and France.
