Riga have added Portuguese-Angolan winger Samuel Pedro to their squad after completing his move from United FC.
The 25-year-old left winger joined the Latvian club on 18 August 2026, switching from the UAE Pro League side to Riga, who compete in Latvia’s Virsliga. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.
Pedro has made five appearances and scored twice in the opening stages of the 2026-27 season. He operates primarily on the left side of attack and is right-footed.
The move brings an end to Pedro’s two-and-a-half-year spell with United FC, whom he joined from Norwegian club Jerv in February 2024. He had previously spent time in Norway with Jerv after moving from Slovenian side NK Olimpija in February 2023.
His career also includes a spell with Benfica B. Pedro joined the Portuguese club from SC Covilha after a loan move in January 2022, before leaving Benfica B for NK Olimpija on a free transfer in July that year.
Born in Aveiro, Portugal, Pedro has represented both Portugal and Angola at national level. He began his youth career with Gafanha before joining Palmeiras’ under-17 side, Braga’s under-17s and Boavista’s youth setup. He moved into senior football with Boavista in 2019 and later transferred to Benfica’s under-23 team.
Pedro’s arrival gives Riga an established wide-attacking option with recent goalscoring form, while also marking his first move to Latvian football. His previous clubs have included sides from Portugal, Slovenia, Norway and the United Arab Emirates.
Samuel Pedro has now completed his move from United FC to Riga.
