Real Madrid will be without seven players for Friday night’s meeting with Real Betis in Seville, while 19-year-old midfielder Sergio Martinez is expected to be named in the squad for the first time.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid have completed their preparations for the fixture, which will take place tomorrow night. The club will travel to Seville without Tchouameni, Endrick, Eder Militao, Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, Raul Asensio and Pitarch.
The absences leave Real Madrid without a number of first-team options for the encounter with Real Betis. The seven players are not expected to be available for the match, with the report confirming that they will miss the fixture.
There is, however, a possible first-team opportunity for Sergio Martinez. The 19-year-old recently joined Real Madrid from Racing Santander and has been training with the senior side despite initially being expected to link up with Real Madrid Castilla.
Martinez is now expected to be included in Real Madrid’s matchday squad against Real Betis. If selected, it would represent his first involvement in the squad since moving to the club and would mark an important step after his recent arrival from Racing Santander.
The expected inclusion follows his work with the first team in training. Although his original pathway was intended to take him to Real Madrid Castilla, his current involvement with the senior squad has put him in contention for the trip to Seville.
The squad is also expected to feature Mario Rivas and Unai Bustinza. Their potential inclusion would give Real Madrid further options as the club prepares to face Real Betis with seven players unavailable.
For Martinez, being named among the travelling group would be the immediate focus. The midfielder has not yet made his debut for Real Madrid’s senior squad, but the match against Real Betis could provide his first opportunity to be involved at that level.
Real Madrid’s preparations have now been completed ahead of the Friday-night fixture. The confirmed absences of Tchouameni, Endrick, Eder Militao, Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, Raul Asensio and Pitarch contrast with the prospect of a first squad appearance for Martinez, alongside the expected presence of Mario Rivas and Unai Bustinza.
The match will be played in Seville, where Real Madrid will face Real Betis tomorrow night.
