RB Leipzig could spend €50m to make Brian Gruda and Neil El Aynaoui deals permanent

RB Leipzig could pay about €50m this summer to sign loan players Brian Gruda and Neil El Aynaoui on permanent contracts, according to Sky Germany.

The Bundesliga club’s purchase of Gruda from Brighton is expected to become mandatory in the second half of the season. Leipzig are also considered highly likely to activate the option to buy El Aynaoui from Roma.

Gruda, 22, first joined RB Leipzig on loan during the second half of last season. He returned to the club in the summer for another season-long spell.

The German midfielder’s permanent transfer is expected to cost around €25m. He can operate as a central or attacking midfielder, as well as on either flank in attack. The terms of a contract for a permanent move have already been agreed.

El Aynaoui moved from Roma to RB Leipzig at the start of September on loan, with an option to buy for approximately €25m.

The 25-year-old Morocco midfielder is highly regarded by Leipzig, both for his performances on the pitch and his conduct away from it. Personal terms for a permanent transfer were also agreed in advance.
