Spanish-Nigerian defender Mujaid Sadick has been linked with a move from Genk to Rayo Vallecano, with the proposed transfer taking the 26-year-old centre-back from the Belgian top flight to La Liga.
Sadick has made no appearances for Genk in the opening four possible Jupiler Pro League matches of the 2026-27 season. He remains under contract with the club until 30 June 2028, meaning any move would require an agreement between the two sides rather than a free transfer.
The defender joined Genk from Deportivo La Coruna in July 2021 for a reported €1.7m. He had developed through Deportivo’s youth system and made the move to Belgium after progressing into the Spanish club’s senior ranks.
Born in Logrono, Sadick is eligible to represent both Spain and Nigeria. He has spent the past five years with Genk, but his lack of involvement at the start of the current campaign could provide context for the reported interest from Rayo.
Rayo Vallecano are assessing defensive options as they seek to strengthen their squad, although the rumour has not been accompanied by a reported fee or an indication that an agreement has been reached. Sadick’s current market value is listed at €5m, while his contract with Genk remains in place until 2028.
