Algeria winger Badredine Bouanani has joined Rangers from Stuttgart on loan, switching from the Bundesliga to the Scottish Premiership for the 2026-27 season.
The 21-year-old right winger’s move was completed on 3 September and runs until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Stuttgart. Bouanani is left-footed and was born in Lille, France, while holding both Algerian and French nationality.
Bouanani arrives at Ibrox after spending the previous season with Stuttgart, who signed him from Nice for €15m on 31 August 2025. His move to Rangers is a temporary transfer rather than a permanent departure from the German club.
The wide player began his senior club career with Lille’s reserve side before joining Nice on a free transfer in July 2022. He later spent part of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at FC Lorient, with that agreement carrying a €1m loan fee, before returning to Nice at the end of the season.
His latest switch gives Rangers a player with experience of clubs in France and Germany, as well as a history of operating on the right side of attack. Bouanani is listed at 1.77m and joins the Scottish club with a market value of €10m.
Stuttgart remain his parent club, having brought him to Germany after his spell with Nice. The move to Rangers is the latest step in a career that has included progression through Lille’s youth system, a free transfer to Nice, a loan spell at Lorient and a €15m transfer to Stuttgart.
Bouanani’s contract with Stuttgart continues beyond the loan, with his return scheduled for the summer of 2027. He has now completed his move to Rangers on loan until 30 June 2027.
