Raja Casablanca president Jawad Ziyat has announced the revival of the club’s historic Oasis training complex, including the reopening of its famed residential centre, in what is being billed as a cornerstone of a new long-term project for the Moroccan giants.
The club chief revealed that a fresh phase of redevelopment at the “Complexe Oasis” – long regarded as the heart of Raja’s football identity – is now under way, with works designed to restore its status as one of Morocco’s premier training and development centres.
Ziyat was speaking in a special interview with Moroccan outlet “Le360 Sport”, due to be published in full in the coming hours, where he outlined the scope of the renovation and the club’s vision for the facility.
Historic dormitory to reopen after years of closure
Central to the plans is the return to operation of Raja’s traditional residential centre, which has been closed for several years.
Ziyat said the reopening of the dormitory is intended to “re-establish the value” of one of the most symbolic landmarks in the club’s history and provide the infrastructure needed for a new generation of players.
He explained that the centre will offer around 50 beds and will be dedicated to housing and educating youth and academy players.
The project, he stressed, is built around a clear strategic choice: investing in player development as a fundamental pillar of Raja’s future.
By restoring on-site accommodation, the club aims to provide young footballers with stable living conditions, structured training, and closer supervision – conditions Raja believe are essential if they are to produce more homegrown talent capable of reaching the first team.
Broad renovation works and a new club museum
Beyond the residential facilities, Ziyat confirmed that work is progressing across the wider Oasis complex.
The renovation programme includes the refurbishment of training pitches and the modernisation of various amenities within the site, to bring them up to contemporary professional standards.
In parallel, Raja are creating a dedicated club museum at the complex. According to Ziyat, this new space will document the club’s history and achievements, while also reflecting Raja’s deep-rooted identity and values.
The museum is expected to serve not only as a point of pride for supporters, but also as a tool to educate younger players about the legacy they are inheriting and the expectations that come with representing one of Africa’s most storied clubs.
Restoring Oasis to national prominence
Ziyat concluded by setting out the overarching ambition behind the redevelopment.
He said the primary goal is to return the Oasis complex to its “natural place” as one of the leading training centres and sports facilities in Morocco, capable of serving both the first team and all age groups within the club structure.
The revamped complex is intended to function as an integrated environment, bringing together professional preparation for the senior side with long-term development for academy teams, in line with Raja’s new sporting and administrative project.
For Raja’s supporters, who have long viewed the Oasis complex as a symbol of the club’s identity and footballing philosophy, the announcement will be seen as a significant step towards reinforcing the foundations on which future success can be built.
