Pyramids name strong XI as they target Egypt cup final

Team selection confirmed for Semi-Final Clash

Krunoslav Jurčić has confirmed the starting lineup for Pyramids FC ahead of their Egypt Cup semi-final against ENPPI SC.

The two sides are set to meet on Friday at Petrosport Stadium in a decisive encounter that will determine one of the finalists in the 2025–2026 edition of the competition.

Jurčić has opted for a strong lineup, with key players included as Pyramids aim to maintain their impressive run and secure a place in the final.

Starting XI Features Key Midfield Names

In goal, Ahmed El Shenawy has been selected to start, providing experience at the back. The defensive line consists of Mohamed El-Sheibi, Ahmed Sami, Mahmoud Marei and Mohamed Hamdi Ibrahim.

The midfield features a combination of creativity and control, with Nasser Maher and Hamed Hamdan both named in the starting lineup. They are joined by Mohannad Lasheen, Mostafa Zico and Mostafa Fathi, forming a unit designed to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities.

Leading the attack is Mahmoud Zalaka, who will be tasked with converting chances and providing the cutting edge in the final third.

Strong Bench Offers Depth

Pyramids also boast a well-stocked bench, with several options available should tactical adjustments be required during the match. Among the substitutes are Mahmoud Gad, Osama Galal, Karim Hafez and Youssef Obama, along with attacking options such as Dodo El Gabas and Everton Da Silva.

This depth could prove crucial in a high-pressure semi-final, where changes in momentum often determine the outcome.

Impressive Journey to the Semi-Finals

Pyramids have reached this stage of the competition with a series of convincing performances. Their campaign began with a 2-0 victory over Masar in the round of 32, followed by a 3-0 win against El Gouna in the round of 16.

They continued their strong form in the quarter-finals, defeating Petrojet 2-0 to secure their place in the last four. Notably, the team has yet to concede a goal in the tournament, underlining their defensive solidity as well as their attacking efficiency.

Eyes on Second Title

The club, often referred to as “Al-Samawi”, are now aiming to reach the final and compete for the trophy once again. Having previously lifted the Egypt Cup in the 2023–2024 season, Pyramids are looking to add a second title to their honours.

One Step Away from the Final

With a balanced lineup and strong recent form, Pyramids enter the semi-final with confidence. However, the knockout nature of the competition means there is little margin for error.

As they take on ENPPI, the focus will be on translating their dominance in earlier rounds into another decisive performance, with a place in the final now within reach.
