Porro ‘would consider’ Barcelona or Real Madrid move despite Tottenham contract

Tottenham defender Pedro Porro is reportedly ready to seriously consider a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid after establishing himself as Spain’s first-choice right-back.

Both El Clasico rivals monitored the 27-year-old during Spain’s successful 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, with his performances increasing interest in a potential transfer.

Porro remains an important player for Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham side, but the club’s poor form could influence his decision. The former Sporting Lisbon defender is valued at around £60M.

The main obstacle for Barcelona and Real Madrid is Porro’s contract situation. He signed a new deal in North London shortly after the World Cup, extending his commitment to Tottenham until 2031.

Spain’s victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final was also central to Rodri’s decision to return to his home country. The veteran midfielder chose not to extend his contract with Manchester City and turned down an offer from Real Madrid before eventually completing a high-profile move to Barcelona.

Rodri was reportedly motivated in part by the prospect of joining his La Roja team-mates at club level. Porro could now follow a similar path, although any move would require Tottenham to consider selling a player who remains under a long-term agreement.
