Namibia and South Africa international Peter Shalulile, currently a free agent after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns, is being linked with a move to Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC. The 32-year-old centre-forward, valued at around €1m, is available without a transfer fee following the end of his spell with the South African champions earlier this month.
Pyramids are understood to be exploring a deal as they look to add proven continental pedigree to their attack. Shalulile has extensive experience in African competition, scoring 20 goals in 55 CAF Champions League appearances and playing a role in Sundowns’ 2025–26 triumph in the tournament, as well as their African Football League title in 2023–24.
Domestically, Shalulile became one of the DStv Premiership’s most reliable forwards, winning the South African league title in five consecutive seasons with Sundowns from 2020–21 to 2024–25. He also finished as the league’s top scorer twice in that period, including a 23-goal campaign in 2021–22, and was previously the leading marksman in the ABSA Premiership in 2019–20.
Born in Eengolo in October 1993, Shalulile built his reputation in South Africa after moving from Tura Magic to Highlands Park in 2015, eventually earning a transfer to Sundowns in 2020. His strike rate in league football, with 92 goals in 201 appearances and an average of a goal every 169 minutes, is likely to appeal to Pyramids as they seek a forward with a consistent record at the highest level in Africa.
Shalulile remains without a club for the 2026–27 season, leaving him free to negotiate directly with interested sides as discussions over a potential switch to Pyramids continue.
