Ajax’s Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has received praise from Peter Bosz after making an impressive start to life with the Dutch club.
Arokodare joined Ajax on loan from Wolves during the summer transfer window and has quickly established himself as an important attacking option for the Eredivisie side.
The 25-year-old has made nine appearances since arriving at the club, scoring six goals and registering two assists.
His early contribution has attracted the attention of Bosz, who praised Ajax for strengthening their squad with experienced players while highlighting the impact made by their new forward.
Speaking to De Telegraaf, Bosz said: “You can see that Ajax has strengthened itself enormously. They have focused on experience. A number of those players are doing very well.”
Bosz then singled out Arokodare’s arrival as an especially notable addition to the Ajax squad.
“They have signed a great striker. That is something we don’t really know in the Netherlands.”
Arokodare’s scoring record has been a major feature of his opening spell with Ajax. In nine appearances, he has found the net six times while also creating two goals for team-mates.
The Nigerian forward arrived from Wolves on a temporary deal during the summer, giving Ajax another experienced attacking option as the club sought to strengthen its squad.
Bosz’s comments reflect the positive impression made by Arokodare during his early appearances in the Netherlands. The striker’s combination of goals and assists has provided an immediate return following his move to Amsterdam.
Ajax’s recruitment during the summer also focused on bringing greater experience into the squad, according to Bosz, with several of the club’s new arrivals already making an impact.
Arokodare’s contribution has been particularly striking, with six goals from his first nine appearances giving him a strong start to his time with the Eredivisie club.
For the Nigerian, the loan move represents an opportunity to continue developing his career while making a significant contribution to Ajax’s campaign.
Bosz’s assessment also underlines the difference Arokodare has made to Ajax’s attacking options. His goalscoring form has given the club a forward capable of producing regular end product, while his two assists show that his contribution has not been limited to scoring.
The praise comes after only nine appearances, meaning Arokodare has made a significant impression in the early stages of his loan spell.
Ajax’s decision to bring in the striker from Wolves has so far produced encouraging results, with Arokodare quickly adapting to his new surroundings and finding the net consistently.
Bosz believes the club’s summer recruitment has strengthened the team considerably, particularly through the addition of experienced players. Arokodare’s performances have provided one of the clearest examples of that impact.
The Nigerian striker will now look to maintain his early form as his loan spell at Ajax continues, having already scored six times and supplied two assists in his first nine appearances.
