Percy Tau comeback speculation grows after training videos draw Pitso Mosimane reaction

Percy Tau has intensified speculation about his footballing future by posting videos of himself training alone, prompting a short but notable response from coach Pitso Mosimane.

Mosimane commented on Tau’s Instagram video with the words: “The return!!!”

The message appeared to show the coach’s hope that the former Bafana Bafana forward will soon be back in action. However, it does not confirm a club agreement, a return date or any direct involvement from Mosimane in securing Tau’s next move.

Tau, 32, is currently without a club after leaving Vietnamese side Nam Dinh at the end of last season. He spent a single campaign with the club.

The forward’s latest social media posts showed him working individually in what appeared to be an open, rural setting. Tau did not reveal where the training took place, but the footage indicated that he is continuing to maintain his fitness while searching for another opportunity.

His departure from Nam Dinh has left his next destination uncertain. Previous reports linked Tau with a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs, although no deal was completed and he remains without a club.

Those reports, together with the new training videos, have renewed discussion among supporters about whether Tau could return to South African football. His posts have also raised questions about where he might continue his career following his time overseas.

There has been no official announcement regarding Tau’s next club or any agreement involving Mosimane. The coach’s reaction has nevertheless added to the expectation surrounding the attacker’s next chapter.

Tau has represented clubs in South Africa and abroad during a career that has included European football and appearances for Bafana Bafana. He is now preparing for another opportunity while waiting to determine where that will come.

For now, the forward remains a free agent. His decision to continue training suggests he is ready to return should a suitable move materialise, but his future remains unresolved.
