Paris-Rennes produces four successful penalties in French league first for 20 years

Paris beat Rennes 4-3 in the seventh round of the French championship in a match featuring an unprecedented number of penalties.

All four spot-kicks awarded by referee Bastien Dechepy, from Nantes, were converted. It was the first time in 20 years that four penalties had been awarded in a single match in the French championship.

The victory moved Paris into the top five of the league table.

Paris will return to action in the next round with an away match against Lens on Saturday, 24 October.
