Tottenham have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign forward Omar Marmoush on loan, with the move set to include a potential permanent transfer worth £50m.
The deal includes an option for Tottenham to buy the Egypt international at the end of the loan. That clause will become mandatory if certain conditions are met, resulting in a total transfer fee of £50m.
Marmoush has already agreed personal terms with Tottenham, according to well-known football insider Fabrizio Romano. The forward gave his approval to the move several days ago, with negotiations between the two clubs subsequently progressing towards an agreement.
He is expected to travel for a medical examination on Monday. The transfer will be completed once those checks have taken place and the remaining formalities have been concluded.
The proposed move would take Marmoush from Manchester City to Tottenham after only a relatively short spell at the Premier League club. He joined City in January 2025 and has since made 62 appearances for them.
During that time, Marmoush has scored 16 goals and provided six assists. His record includes his direct contributions in both scoring and creating goals since arriving at Manchester City.
Tottenham’s agreement with City means the transfer has moved beyond the initial stage of discussions, while Marmoush’s planned medical represents the next significant step before the deal can be formally confirmed.
For Manchester City, the arrangement would initially involve Marmoush leaving on a temporary basis. However, the structure of the agreement means Tottenham could be required to make the move permanent if the specified conditions are fulfilled.
The final value of the transfer would then be £50m. If those conditions are not met, the purchase option would remain non-mandatory under the terms reported by Romano.
Marmoush’s move to Manchester City was completed in January 2025, and the Egyptian forward has played 62 matches for the club since then. He has recorded 16 goals and six assists during that period.
With the medical scheduled for Monday, Tottenham and Manchester City are now waiting for the process to be completed before the transfer can be finalised.
