Omar Fayed, the Egyptian centre-back currently at Fenerbahce, is being linked with a move to Polish side Pogon Szczecin as the Ekstraklasa club look to strengthen their defence ahead of the new campaign.
Fayed, 23, is under contract in Istanbul until 30 June 2027, meaning any transfer would require Pogon to strike a deal with Fenerbahce rather than wait for a free move. His current market valuation stands at around €600,000, a figure likely to form the starting point for negotiations if the Polish club choose to formalise their interest.
The defender has yet to feature for Fenerbahce in this season’s UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign, which could ease his path to a move if the Turkish side are prepared to reshape their squad. Fayed has spent much of his time on the books at Fenerbahce out on loan, including recent spells with Portuguese outfit Arouca and Belgian club Beerschot, as well as Serbian side Novi Pazar, in search of regular senior minutes.
Born in Monufia on 4 July 2003, the 1.92m right-footed centre-back joined Fenerbahce from Egyptian club El Mokawloon in August 2023 for a fee in the region of €551,000. Since then, his repeated loans have underlined Fenerbahce’s willingness to let him develop elsewhere while retaining his registration.
With Fayed now back in Istanbul following his latest loan at Arouca and still tied to a long-term deal, Fenerbahce hold a strong position in any talks, leaving Pogon Szczecin to decide whether to test that resolve with a formal offer.
