Ola Aina watches from bench as Forest lose to Arsenal

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina remained an unused substitute as Nottingham Forest suffered a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Nigerian international was on the bench for the entire 90 minutes as Forest failed to avoid defeat against the Gunners, who secured a narrow victory in the league encounter.

Aina’s absence from the action means the defender did not add to his appearances for Nottingham Forest in the current campaign during Sunday’s match.

The Nigerian right-back has featured five times for Forest so far this season, establishing his involvement in the team’s campaign while also collecting three yellow cards across those appearances.

Despite his previous outings for the club this season, Aina was not called upon during the contest against Arsenal, remaining on the sidelines from the opening whistle until the final whistle.

Forest’s 1-0 loss leaves the club reflecting on a disappointing result, while Arsenal took the victory after keeping their opponents from finding a way back into the game.

For Aina, attention will now turn to his next opportunity to feature for Nottingham Forest as he seeks to increase his playing time in the ongoing Premier League campaign.

The defender’s five appearances and three yellow cards remain the key statistics from his involvement with Forest this season, with Sunday’s match adding another occasion in which he watched his side compete without taking to the pitch.
