Portugal and Cape Verde defender Nuno Tavares has been linked with a move from Lazio to Serie A rivals AC Milan.
The 26-year-old left-back is currently valued at €12m and has a contract with Lazio until 30 June 2029. The reported interest comes just over a year after Tavares joined the Italian club permanently from Arsenal.
Tavares initially moved to Lazio on loan in July 2024 before completing a permanent transfer in July 2025 for a reported €5.58m. His market value at the time was listed at €25m.
He has made 46 Serie A appearances in his career, registering eight assists, and has also played in the Premier League, Ligue 1 and Liga Portugal. Tavares began his senior career with Benfica, having developed through the club’s academy after spells with Casa Pia and Sporting’s youth system.
His only senior honour listed is the Portuguese Super Cup, which he won with Benfica in 2020.
Tavares made his first-team breakthrough at Benfica before joining Arsenal in July 2021 for €8m. He subsequently spent loan spells at Marseille and Nottingham Forest before moving to Lazio.
The rumour places him in contention for a move within Italy, although there is no indication that an agreement has been reached. Tavares remains a Lazio player under a long-term contract, with AC Milan identified as the club linked with his signature.
