Newcastle United have told representatives of Lewis Hall that the England midfielder is not available for transfer, following Manchester United’s attempt to sign the 21-year-old.
Manchester United made an approach for Hall, but Newcastle United’s leadership rejected the possibility of allowing the player to leave. The response also appears intended to make the club’s position clear ahead of interest from other teams.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the situation regarding a possible move has now been settled. Newcastle United will not consider offers for Hall and regard him as an important part of the team’s plans.
The club’s message to the player’s representatives was that Hall is not for sale. That stance applies not only to Manchester United, who had tried to secure his services, but also to any other potential suitors who may consider making an approach.
Hall is valued at €40m, while his current contract with Newcastle United runs until 30 June 2029. The length of that agreement provides the club with a strong contractual position as it seeks to retain a player it considers central to the squad.
Manchester United’s interest therefore appears to have ended without an agreement. Newcastle United have decided that the midfielder’s value to the team outweighs the possibility of receiving a substantial transfer fee.
The club’s decision also removes immediate uncertainty over Hall’s future. Rather than entering negotiations, Newcastle United have made clear that they do not intend to examine a sale, despite Manchester United’s efforts to sign him.
For Hall, the message from Newcastle United is that he remains part of the club’s plans. With his contract extending through to the end of June 2029 and the club identifying him as a key player, there is no indication that a transfer will be pursued.
