Moroccan-French midfielder Neil El Aynaoui, currently with Roma, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Leipzig.
The 25-year-old central midfielder joined Roma from Lens in July 2025 for €23.5m and has a contract with the Serie A club until June 2030. His current market value is listed at €30m.
El Aynaoui has made one Serie A appearance so far this season, playing six minutes, after beginning the campaign behind more established options in Roma’s midfield. His limited domestic involvement contrasts with his role for Morocco at the 2026 World Cup, where he appeared in all six of the team’s matches and started each one.
The midfielder was part of Morocco’s Africa Cup-winning squad in 2025, adding international experience to a player whose senior club career has so far included spells with Nancy, Lens and Roma.
The reported link with Leipzig comes with the proposed move rated at 69%, although there is no indication that an agreement has been reached between the clubs or that personal terms have been settled.
Roma’s long-term commitment to El Aynaoui means any deal would likely require the Italian club to consider a significant fee, particularly given his current €30m valuation. For now, he remains a Roma player under contract through the end of the 2029-30 season.
