Ndicka attracting growing interest as Roma weigh summer decision

AS Roma defender Evan Ndicka has emerged as one of the most in-demand centre-backs ahead of the summer transfer window, with several major European clubs reportedly monitoring the Ivory Coast international.

The 26-year-old has enhanced his reputation through another consistent campaign in Serie A, prompting increasing speculation about his future in the Italian capital.

What began as interest from a handful of clubs has reportedly developed into a wider race for the defender’s signature. Recent reports have linked Ndicka with moves to a number of top European sides as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

Among the clubs said to be tracking the Ivorian are Liverpool FC, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, interest has also emerged from Tottenham Hotspur and Olympique de Marseille, further increasing attention around the defender’s situation.

Despite the speculation, Roma remain in a relatively strong position. Ndicka is under contract until June 2028, meaning the club is not under immediate pressure to sell one of its most important defensive players.

However, Financial Fair Play considerations could influence Roma’s transfer strategy this summer. Should the club decide that player sales are necessary, Ndicka is viewed as one of its most valuable assets and could attract significant offers from interested clubs.

Roma must now balance financial considerations against the sporting importance of retaining a player who has become a key figure in their back line. With the club preparing for another demanding season that could include UEFA Champions League football, keeping an experienced and reliable defender remains an attractive option.

According to Transfermarkt, Ndicka’s current market value is estimated at around €35 million, underlining both his importance to Roma and the level of investment likely required to secure his signature.

For now, no final decision has been made, but Ndicka is expected to remain one of the most closely watched defenders on the market as the transfer window approaches.
