Morocco defender Nayef Aguerd is being linked with a move from Marseille to Qatari club Al-Sadd.
The 30-year-old centre-back joined Marseille from West Ham United on 1 September 2025 in a transfer reported at €23m. He is now valued at €15m, with the potential move coming less than a year after his arrival in Ligue 1.
Aguerd has a contract with Marseille until 30 June 2030, meaning any departure would be subject to an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer. No transfer fee has been reported for the proposed move to the Stars League.
The left-footed defender has made 107 Ligue 1 appearances during his career, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists. His previous experience also includes spells with Dijon, Rennes, Real Sociedad and West Ham.
Aguerd won the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco in 2025 and was part of the West Ham team that lifted the Europa Conference League in the 2022-23 season.
The reported interest from Al-Sadd would represent a possible change of direction for a player who has spent much of his career in France, Spain and England. Aguerd remains a Marseille player under his existing long-term contract while the rumour develops.
