Alessandro Bastoni is expected to return to Italy’s starting XI while Matteo Ruggeri is set to make his international debut against Turkiye in the Nations League.
The match brings Italy manager Roberto Mancini up against his former Sampdoria team-mate Vincenzo Montella, who is in charge of Turkiye. Kick-off is at 20:45 CET (19:45 BST) at the Ataturk Spor Kompleksi in Bursa.
Both sides are looking for their first points after losing their opening fixtures on Friday. Italy were beaten 2-0 at home by Belgium, while Turkiye suffered a 1-0 home defeat by France.
Mancini has left 10 players at Coverciano, including Nicolo Barella, Gianluca Mancini and Diego Coppola, all of whom started against Belgium last week.
Expected line-ups
According to multiple reports, including Sky Sport, Ruggeri will be selected at left-back for his first appearance with the Azzurri. Bastoni is also set to come back into the team after missing the Belgium match through suspension.
Sandro Tonali and Davide Frattesi are expected to form part of the central-midfield trio. Nicolo Fagioli is competing with Issa Doumbia for the remaining place.
In attack, Francesco Pio Esposito is reportedly favoured ahead of Moise Kean to lead the line in a three-man forward unit. Giacomo Raspadori and Nicolo Cambiaghi are expected to complete the front three.
Turkiye are expected to use a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Altay Bayındır in goal behind a defence of Zeki Celik, Merih Demiral and Abdulkerim Bardakcı.
The midfield is likely to include Aydın, Ozcan, Yuksek and Kadioglu, while Arda Guler and Uzun are set to play behind Yılmaz.
Italy’s predicted 4-3-3 has Gianluigi Donnarumma in goal, with Kayode, Scalvini, Bastoni and Ruggeri in defence. Frattesi, Tonali and Fagioli are expected in midfield, while Raspadori, Pio Esposito and Cambiaghi form the attack.
The game will be shown live on Amazon Prime in the UK and Ireland. Viewers in the United States can watch on fuboTV and ViX.
