Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will not attend Monday evening’s Ballon d’Or ceremony at the London Palladium, despite 10 players from the club being included among the 30 nominees for the prestigious award.
According to French radio station Monte Carlo, Al-Khelaifi has chosen to remain in Paris to support his side against Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes.
The Ligue 1 fixture is a rearranged match from the eighth round of the competition. The accompanying schedule lists the meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon for 31 October 2026, while Le Havre are listed for 30 October 2026 and Angers also appear in the fixture information.
Al-Khelaifi will not be the only Paris Saint-Germain figure missing from the ceremony. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is also expected to be absent as he prepares to undergo knee surgery.
Nuno Mendes and seven other Paris Saint-Germain players will likewise miss the event after being included in the squad named by manager Luis Enrique for the match against Olympique Lyonnais.
That leaves Ousmane Dembele, 29, as Paris Saint-Germain’s only representative in the English capital. The France forward is the reigning Ballon d’Or winner and is among the contenders to retain the award.
