Napoli seek Champions League response against dangerous Bodo/Glimt

Napoli will look to recover from back-to-back defeats when they host Bodo/Glimt at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in the UEFA Champions League on 20 October 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00.

The Italian club were beaten 1-0 by Venice at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo last weekend. Venice had not previously collected a point in the competition, but secured victory through a 49th-minute goal from former Sevilla striker Akor Adams.

That result followed a difficult opening to Napoli’s UEFA Champions League campaign. They began with a 1-0 defeat by Arsenal last month before taking the lead against Villarreal last week. However, the Italian side were unable to hold on and eventually lost 3-1 to the Spanish club, known as the Yellow Submarine.

Napoli now face a Bodo/Glimt side whose recent European performances have earned them a reputation as a formidable opponent despite their modest size.

Kjetil Knutsen’s team reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League last season and will aim to match that achievement in the current campaign. Their tournament began with a heavy 5-0 defeat by Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Bodo/Glimt responded strongly in their next match, beating Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in the Arctic Circle last week. Fredrik Sjovold scored the decisive goal after half-time to give the Norwegian side their first victory of the campaign.

The visitors arrive in Naples having won again, while Napoli will attempt to use home advantage to end a run of two successive defeats.
