Napoli linked with Sassuolo midfielder Darryl Bakola

French-Congolese midfielder Darryl Bakola is the subject of a reported transfer link between his current club Sassuolo and Serie A rivals Napoli.

Bakola, 18, joined Sassuolo from Marseille in February 2026 in a deal worth €10m and has established a regular role in the club’s midfield this season. He has made seven Serie A appearances, starting 75% of Sassuolo’s matches, and has provided two assists.

The central midfielder has also featured twice in the Italy Cup, registering one assist. His current market value is listed at €15m, although there is no indication of a fee being discussed between the clubs.

Bakola’s development at Sassuolo follows his progression through Marseille’s youth system, where he won the French Youth Cup with the under-19 side in the 2023-24 season. He moved into Marseille’s senior setup before completing his transfer to Italy.

The teenager remains under contract with Sassuolo until 30 June 2030, meaning any move to Napoli would require an agreement between the two Serie A clubs rather than a free transfer.
