Napoli are exploring a possible move for Barcelona midfielder Gavi, although a deal is unlikely to be straightforward.
According to Sport.es, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has contacted the player’s representatives to establish his plans for the future. The Italian club are considering a loan move that would include the option to make the transfer permanent.
Barcelona, however, do not intend to part with the 20-year-old midfielder. Gavi is also not considering leaving the club, either during the winter transfer window or next summer.
Barcelona believe the Spain international can gradually return to his previous level after suffering two serious injuries. The Catalan club remain committed to retaining him as he continues his recovery.
Gavi has played in four La Liga matches this season but has not recorded a goal or an assist. His contract with Barcelona runs until 2030, while his market value is estimated at €25m.
