Mykhailo Mudryk has rejected a possible move to Strasbourg because the Chelsea winger wants to remain in the Premier League, with Leeds still interested in signing him on loan before the transfer window closes.
The 25-year-old has been offered the opportunity to leave Chelsea temporarily in search of regular first-team football. Mudryk has not played since the end of 2024 because of a suspension, and the club are now prepared to allow him to depart on loan to regain match practice.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Strasbourg was presented as a possible destination for Mudryk. However, the Ukraine international turned down that option as he would prefer to continue his career in England’s top flight.
Leeds remain interested in taking the winger, although no move has been confirmed. Mudryk’s immediate priority is understood to be finding a club where he can return to competitive action after his lengthy absence.
The winger joined Chelsea at the beginning of 2023 and has made 73 appearances for the London club. He has scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists during that time.
Chelsea are willing to consider a loan arrangement before the current transfer window closes, giving Mudryk the chance to build up his playing time away from Stamford Bridge. Strasbourg’s proposal has therefore not progressed, with the player’s preference for a Premier League switch shaping his next move.
Mudryk’s spell at Chelsea has so far produced 73 matches, 10 goals and 11 assists, but his involvement has been interrupted by the suspension that has kept him out since late 2024. A temporary transfer would offer him the opportunity to return to regular football while remaining under contract with Chelsea.
For now, Leeds are the club still linked with the player, while Mudryk has made clear that a move to Strasbourg does not match his plans. Any agreement would need to be reached before the transfer window shuts.
