Mustapha Hadji backs Yassir Zabiri to become one of Morocco’s great strikers

Former Morocco international Mustapha Hadji believes Yassir Zabiri has the potential to become a major figure in Moroccan football, saying the 21-year-old Racing Santander forward can develop into “a great player”.

The former African Ballon d’Or winner has been following Zabiri’s progress closely and has praised the qualities shown by the young striker. Speaking to Maghreb-Foot, Hadji said he watches a large proportion of the matches played by his compatriot.

Hadji’s interest in Zabiri began during the FIFA U20 World Cup, when the forward’s individual ability first caught the former Morocco international’s attention. Since then, he has continued to monitor the player’s development in Spain.

Zabiri is currently with Racing Santander, where his performances have helped establish him as one of the young Moroccan attackers attracting attention. Hadji believes the striker’s continued commitment to hard work will be decisive in determining how far he progresses.

The former Morocco midfielder said maintaining that level of effort could allow Zabiri to join the ranks of the country’s leading centre-forwards. His assessment amounts to a strong endorsement of the 21-year-old’s potential and of the trajectory he is beginning to follow.

Racing Santander are due to play Espanyol in their 10th match of the Spanish league. The match has been priced at 2.30 for a Racing Santander victory, 3.40 for a draw and 2.55 for an Espanyol win by 1xbet.
