Morocco v Algeria: how to watch the Womens Africa Cup of Nations third-place play-off

Morocco and Algeria meet on Saturday in the third-place play-off at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026, with the match taking place at the Stade Olympique de Rabat.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 French time, which is 18:00 in both Morocco and Algeria.

Viewers in France can watch the match on beIN Sports Max 7, while beIN Sports Mena 6 will broadcast it in Algeria and Morocco. Arryadia will also show the game exclusively in Morocco.

The fixture brings together two familiar rivals for a second time at this tournament. Morocco and Algeria faced each other in the group stage just two weeks ago, when the hosts secured a narrow victory through a late goal from Sanaa Mssoudy.

Mssoudy struck in the 84th minute during the second round of group matches to give Morocco the win and set up another meeting between the neighbouring nations.

This will be the third time the two teams have played each other in the past six years. Morocco also won the previous competitive meeting, beating Algeria 2-0 in qualifying in February 2020. That tournament was later cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Both sides enter the play-off after losing their respective semi-finals.

Morocco were beaten by Cameroon after a goalless draw, eventually losing 3-1 on penalties. Algeria, meanwhile, were defeated 3-1 by Malawi.

Algeria will be without Morgane Belkhiter, who is suspended after being sent off in a decision regarded as severe. She is expected to be replaced by versatile player Lana Smits.

The match offers both teams an opportunity to finish the tournament with a medal after falling short in the semi-finals. Morocco will be seeking to repeat its group-stage success, while Algeria will hope to overturn the result from their first meeting and claim third place on home soil.

Saturday’s encounter is therefore the latest chapter in a rivalry that has produced three meetings since 2020, with Morocco currently holding the advantage in their recent record.
